Abstract
In a method for image enhancement of image data of a dental image generation system, comprising a first image generating unit () for producing two-dimensional image data and a second image generating unit () for producing three-dimensional image data, wherein for an object to be examined () the image generation system provides both two-dimensional image data and three-dimensional image data, it is in particular provided that the two-dimensional image data and the three-dimensional image data are merged in such a way that the image quality and/or the information content of the two-dimensional image data or of the three-dimensional image data is improved.
