Abstract
A two-photon absorbing (TPA) compound is provided along with a method of making same. The TPA compound has a general structural formula: where Rand Rare independently selected from the group consisting of linear or branched alkyl chains having a general formula CH, n ranges from about 6 to about 20, and ethoxylated alkyls having a general formula R(OCHCH)OCHCH—, where Ris a C1 to C4 alkyl group, and where m ranges from 0 to about 3; and where Y is selected from the group consisting of H, OH, and alkoxyl groups.
