Abstract

A surgical plastic clip with a hinged pair of opposed arms. A male locking pin on the free end of one arm is configured to penetrate tissue in its path when the male locking pin is urged towards a female aperture on the free end of second arm. A clamping side of one arm includes a wedge-shaped feature, and a clamping side of the second arm includes a V-shaped trough that conforms to the shape of the wedge shaped feature. Each clamping side includes non-slip protrusions such as non-slip protruding ribs. A clip applicator includes a pivoting jaw assembly that pivots at an angle relative to the longitudinal axis of the shaft of the applicator.
