Abstract

A method and an apparatus for determining the electric resistances of coil connections (RSi) of connections (-) of coils (Bi) of a winding () of a dynamo electric machine, which includes a plurality of coils (Bi) connected in series. A first current (I) is generated through a first coil connection () of a first coil (B) of the winding (). Furthermore, a second current (I) is generated through a first coil connection () of a second coil (B, B) of the winding in such a way as to eliminate the current flowing through a portion (B-B) of the winding, which is proximate to the first coil connection () of the first coil (B) and the first coil connection () of the second coil (B, B). A third current (I) is also generated in a second coil connection () of the first coil (B). The generating of the first current (I), the generating of the second current (I), and the generating of the third current (I) are made with respect to a common potential (). Measurements are made of a first voltage (V) across a third coil (B), which is adjacent to the first coil (B), and of the current (I) flowing through the first coil connection () of the first coil (B). From these measurements a determination is made of the resistance (RS) of the first coil connection () of the first coil (B).
