Abstract
A method for validating an alarm situation in a home includes determining by a processing unit of an alarm situation on the basis of data received from the home provided with a sensor network comprising one or more sensors and a central unit; transmission by the processing unit of a message to a care provider that an alarm situation is occurring at the occupant; sending out of a notification signal by the processing unit to the central unit; upon receiving the notification signal in the central unit, switching on an increased vigilance mode, wherein a call from the one or more care providers is prepared in the central unit by making available an audio function in one or more sensors of the sensor network; validating the alarm situation by establishing a conversation between one of the care providers and the occupant via the at least one sensor.
