Abstract
A heating element is provided that configured for use in an electronic cigarette. The heating element includes at least one carrier material made of glass or glass ceramic and metallic heating conductor structures. The heating conductor structures are on the carrier material and the carrier material has a thermal conductivity of less than 2 W/K*m, a thermal capacity of less than 1000 J/K*kg, and a roughness Rof less than 500 nm.
