Abstract

The wheel bearing apparatus has hub bolts () to fasten a wheel secured equidistantly around the wheel mounting flange (). An annular groove () is formed on the outer-side surface () of the wheel mounting flange (). The annular groove () includes a region where the hub bolts () are mounted. The outer-side surface () of the wheel mounting flange () is formed as a cut surface cut after press-fitting of the hub bolts (). Weight reduction apertures (circular apertures) () are formed between the hub boltsof the wheel mounting flange (). A diameter of a circumscribed circle ϕA circumscribing the circular apertures () is set larger than an outer diameter ϕB of the annular groove (). Accordingly, muddy water is easily discharged from the circular apertures ().
