Abstract
Disclosed is a system and method for fusing two bones within a mammal. More particularly described is such a system and method for a transcortical fusion system wherein which a plate is affixed in a longitudinal slot or aperture cut into the anterior portion of the tibia and the talus, thereby achieving an fusion of the joint while placing the fusion site in the joint in compression.
