Abstract
A power generatorincludes a magnetostrictive rodthrough which lines of magnetic force pass in an axial direction thereof, a beam memberhaving a function of generating stress in the magnetostrictive rod, and a coilarranged so that the lines of magnetic force pass inside the coilin an axial direction of the coil. The beam memberis arranged along the magnetostrictive rodand configured to allow one end portion and the other end portion of the magnetostrictive rodto approach to each other to generate compressive stress in the magnetostrictive rod. Further, in the power generator, it is preferable that a gap between the beam memberand the magnetostrictive rodon the side of the one end portion of the magnetostrictive rodis larger than a gap between the beam memberand the magnetostrictive rodon the side of the other one end portion of the magnetostrictive rodin a side view.
