Abstract

According to one embodiment, a nonaqueous electrolyte battery is provided. This nonaqueous electrolyte battery includes a negative electrode, a positive electrode, and a nonaqueous electrolyte. The negative electrode contains a negative electrode active material having a Li insertion/extraction potential of 0.8 V (vs. Li/Li) or more. The positive electrode contains a positive electrode active material represented by LiMnFeAPO(where 0<x≤0.3, 0≤y≤0.1, and A is at least one selected from the group consisting of Mg, Ca, Al, Ti, Zn, and Zr) and an active material that Li can be inserted to at a potential of 3.3 V (vs. Li/Li) or less.
