A protective device () is provided for a plug-in electric vehicle having a charging plate () and a traction battery (). The protective device () has a diode that includes an anode for connecting the diode to the charging plate () and a cathode for connecting the diode to the traction battery (). A charging plate, a high-voltage line and a plug-in electric vehicle having such a protective device also are provided.
