Abstract
The present invention relates to compositions containing, as their only active ingredients, an extract ofspp, optionally as curcumin in the form of a complex with phospholipids, and an extract selected fromspp extract or lipophilic extract ofspp, which are useful in the topical and systemic treatment of peripheral pain and of superficial and deep inflammatory and painful conditions. The compositions according to the invention are particularly effective in the treatment of osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis in patients unable to tolerate long-term treatment with NSAIDs or steroids.
