A medical device and caretaking management system () includes a plurality of medical devices () that transmit equipment data and patient data. A central or distributed monitoring system () receives the equipment data and patient data from the plurality of medical devices, derives an acuity for each of the patients, and assigns caregivers and equipment based on the derived acuity for display on a display device ().
