Abstract

Provided are a polarizing plate having excellent surface hardness and excellent adhesiveness between a polarizer and a resin layer arranged on the polarizer, and an image display device including the polarizing plate. The polarizing plate of the present invention includes a polarizer and a resin layer directly in contact with the polarizer, the resin layer is a layer obtained by polymerizing and curing a boronic acid monomer having a boronic acid group denoted by Formula (1) and a polymerizable group, and a multifunctional monomer, Re(550) and Rth(550) of the resin layer respectively satisfy Expression (X) and Expression (Y) described below, and the thickness of the polarizer is less than or equal to 35 μm. Expression (X) Re(550)≤10 nm and|th(550)|≤10 nm  Expression (Y)
