Abstract

A variable magnification optical system is an optical system in which, a magnification ratio varies from a lower magnification end to a high magnification end, and includes at least a first lens unit having a positive refractive power, which is disposed nearest to an object, and a second lens unit having a positive refractive power, which is disposed on an image side of the first lens unit.
