Abstract

The invention relates to probiotic bacteria selected from lactic acid bacteria, such asand Bifidobacteria, having metals and/or metal nanoparticles and to foodstuff and pharmaceutical composition having these bacteria. The invention also provides methods for obtaining these bacteria and uses of these bacteria for the treatment and prevention of mineral deficiency pathologies, as a contrast agent for the imaging of the digestive tract and for the treatment of cancer.
