Abstract

A printing apparatus includes a printing cylinder () that holds and transfers a sheet (), a supply-side transfer cylinder ((sheet supply unit)) that supplies the sheet () to the printing cylinder () at a supply position (P), and first to fourth inkjet heads (-). The printing apparatus includes a transfer mechanism () that receives the sheet () after printing at a receiving position (P) and transfers the sheet () to one of a discharge route () and a reversing route (). The reversing route () employs an arrangement that returns the reversed sheet () to the printing cylinder () at a return position (P) located on the downstream side of the receiving position (P) in the transfer direction of the sheet () and on the upstream side of the supply position (P) in the transfer direction of the sheet (). A cooling means () for cooling the transfer surface ((outer peripheral surface)) of the printing cylinder () is provided between the receiving position (P) and the return position (P). It is possible to provide the printing apparatus that suppresses an increase in the temperature of the transfer surface of the printing cylinder and always sets the temperature of the sheet at an appropriate temperature.
