Abstract
A stainless steel sheet for a separator of a polymer electrolyte fuel cell includes a substrate made of stainless steel and a Sn alloy layer with which a surface of the substrate is coated. The Sn alloy layer includes 10 or more and 10,000 or fewer microcracks per cm, where the microcrack is defined as a crack having a crack width that is at least 0.1 times the thickness of the Sn alloy layer and no more than 10 μm.
