Abstract

The present invention relates to improving the enzymatic activity ofO157:H7-derived sugar isomerase by molecular mechanics and site-directed mutagenesis. More particularly, the present invention relates to a sugar isomerase having an enzymatic activity improved by mutation, a nucleic acid molecule encoding the same, a vector comprising the nucleic acid molecule, a transformant comprising the vector, a mutant of the sugar isomerase, and a method for producing L-gulose using the improved sugar isomerase.
