Abstract
There is provided a novel regulating member that ensures easy manufacturing and does not adversely affect cooling water and environment. A spaceris inserted from an openingof a cooling water flow passageinto the cooling water flow passageto be disposed. The cooling water flow passageis disposed in a cylinder blockin an internal combustion engine. The spacerincludes a supporting memberwith rigidity formed into a shape configured to be disposed in the cooling water flow passageand a regulating portionsupported by the supporting member. The regulating portionregulates a flow of cooling water. The regulating portionincludes a cellulose-based sponge.
