Abstract
An exemplary building sway operation system () for an elevator includes an acceleration sensor (), and a data receiving unit () for receiving a sensor output from the acceleration sensor (). The acceleration sensor () is designed to be mounted on a movable mass () of an active vibration control device () for a building, in order to detect the reciprocating motion of the movable mass () of the active vibration control device () responsive to the occurrence of earthquakes or strong winds.
