Abstract
A turbocharger turbine () includes a wastegate subassembly () that includes a mounting plate () having a bore () therethrough, a valve shaft () disposed in the bore (), and a wastegate valve () including a valve body () and a valve arm () that secures the valve body () to an end of the valve shaft (). The wastegate subassembly () is preassembled prior to assembly with the turbocharger (), and is detachably secured to an outer surface of the turbine exhaust gas inlet () such that valve body () is positioned to control exhaust gas flow through a bypass port () that extends between the exhaust gas inlet () and an exhaust gas outlet (), and bypasses the turbine wheel ().
