Abstract
A multi-zoned paddle screen apparatusis disclosed for separating fiber from a liquid medium during, for example, a grain wet mill or dry grind process. The apparatus includes a housinghaving first and second zonessituated adjacent one another along a length (L) of the housing. First and second screen sectionshaving a plurality of openingsmay be situated lengthwise within the housingcorresponding with the first and second zones, respectively. The first and second screen sectionshave a circular cross-section, and the second screen sectionhas a larger diameter than the first screen section. An elongated shaftsituated lengthwise within the screen sectionsincludes first and second conveyors, which correspond with the first and second zones, respectively, having a plurality of paddles.
