Abstract
A luminaire () for controlling a light output of a lighting module () comprising at least one light source is disclosed. The luminaire () comprises a housing () and a plurality of connectors () for interfacing with the lighting module (). Each connector () has a position defined by a location relative to the housing () and an orientation relative to the gravitational field, wherein at least two connectors () have different orientations. The luminaire () further comprises a processor () for detecting the lighting module () at a connector () and for accessing information indicative of the position of the connector (). The processor () is further arranged for identifying the lighting module () based on a signal received from the lighting module (), and for controlling the light output of the lighting module () based on the identification of the lighting module () and the position of the connector ().
