Abstract

A battery cell () comprising at least one electrode unit () having an anode (), a cathode () and a separator () which is arranged between the anode () and the cathode (). In this case, the separator () has an electrically conductive core layer () and at least one ionically permeable edge layer (). The invention also relates to a method for controlling ion flow within the battery cell (), wherein an electrical connection is established between the electrically conductive core layer () of the separator () and a current collector () of the anode () or a current collector () of the cathode ().
