Abstract
A visual inspection system () for optical fibers () includes at least a pattern source (A,B,C,); at least a first illumination source (A,B,C,) to direct light towards an optical fiber (); and at least a first camera (A,B,C,) positioned at an opposite side of the fiber () from the pattern source (,A,B,C,). At least one image () of the optical fiber () is taken and a pattern visible through the optical fiber () in the image () may be analyzed to detect distortions in the pattern.
