The invention relates to an improved process for the manufacture of bis-resorcinyl triazines of formula (I) wherein Ris a CCalkyl group or C-Calkenyl group as well as the respective alkyl substituted bis-resorcinyl derivatives of formula (II) wherein Ris a C-Calkyl group or C-Calkenyl group and Rand Rare independently of each other a C-Calkyl group or a C-Calkenyl group.
