Abstract
The present invention discloses an in vitro method for diagnosing ainfection in a biological sample of a subject, comprising a step of contacting said sample with bacterial cells of a serovar of thespecies, preferably bacterial cells of theserovar Hurstbridge, or an antigenic fraction of said bacterial cells. In a preferred embodiment, saidinfection is not due to bacteria belonging to the serovar of thespecies used in the diagnostic method.
