Abstract
A communication pipe outlet () of a suction muffler () included in a hermetic compressor () includes a communication opening (). An upper shape () of the communication opening () is a curved protruding shape, and a lower shape () of the communication opening () is a rectangular shape. A suction hole () of a valve plate () included in the hermetic compressor () is formed such that the cylinder side of the suction hole () has a non-recessed closed-curve shape, and the communication pipe side of the suction hole () has a shape similar to that of the communication opening (). The valve plate () and a communication pipe () are connected in a state where an upper peripheral surface of the communication opening () of the communication pipe outlet () corresponds to an upper peripheral surface of the suction hole ().
