Abstract

A fabric () for use in composite materials having a reinforcing system () made of reinforcing warp threads () and reinforcing weft threads (), which are placed on top of one other in two different reinforcing layers (), (). A binding system () of binding warp threads () and binding weft threads () is formed from a binding yarn () with a lower yarn count than the reinforcing yarn (). The reinforcing system () is enclosed between the binding warp threads () on the one side and the binding weft threads () on the other side, and thus, held in place at binding points (). At each binding point (), a binding warp thread () is guided and held between a stationary warp thread () and a regular warp thread () of a warp thread pair () of binding warp threads (). Between two adjacent binding points of a warp thread pair (), the stationary warp thread () and the regular warp thread () have intersecting points ().
