Abstract
Simulated network system and method having simulated user profiles and simulated item profiles representing items where the terms used to define characteristics of simulated user profiles and simulated item profiles are based on the same term vocabulary. Simulated sharing and spreading of item profiles by simulated user profiles arranged in the simulated network in a manner that gives a desired level of homophily to the network can produce information that can be presented to a real-world user of a real-world e-commerce system or other user network system, such as a Internet-based social network.
