Abstract
The invention discloses a method for individually assessing the cleanness of at least one of an upper () and a lower () bed support in a process column (). The method comprises the steps of: a) providing a process column () comprising an upper () and a lower () bed support, a column chamber, a movable adaptor (), an upper outlet () and a lower outlet (); b) conveying liquid through one of the lower () and upper () bed supports, e.g. by moving the adaptor () downwards at a predetermined rate with one of the upper and lower outlets closed and the other open to force liquid through one of the lower and upper bed supports, and; c) measuring the differential pressure over the bed support through which liquid passes.
