Abstract

The present invention relates to a process for producing a propylene terpolymer comprising comonomer units derived from ethylene and from one alpha-olefin selected from the group of C-Calpha-olefins and being characterized by a total content of comonomer units not less than 8% wt and a value of the ratio of ethylene to the C-Calpha-olefins ranging from 0.1 to 0.8, said process being carried out in a gas-phase reactor comprising two interconnected polymerization zones. The present invention further relates to the propylene terpolymer obtained by said process particularly suitable to be used as films such as cast films, bi- or mono-oriented films and heat-sealable films having good optical properties and excellent sealing properties combined with good shrinkage properties and softness.
