Abstract
Evaporator system of the mechanical vapor recompression type, which has a housing () and evaporator tubes () positioned parallel to each other. A product inlet () in fluid communication with a distribution element () is connected to the evaporator tubes (), and a secondary channel () is formed between the inside surface of the housing () and the external surfaces of the evaporator tubes (). A vapor liquid separator () is positioned at a bottom side of the evaporator tubes () and the secondary channel (). A compressor () is in fluid communication with a vapor outlet of the vapor liquid separator (), and a second transport tube () is connected to an inlet () of the secondary channel (). Each evaporator tube () of the plurality of evaporator tubes has an inner diameter (de) of at least 50 mm.
