In an information processing apparatus, a password input blockaccepts a password for use in user authentification. An authentification blockexecutes user authentification on the basis of an authentification ID and the password accepted by the password input block. A service provision block, if the user authentification by the authentification blockis successful, provides a service to a user concerned.
