Abstract

A nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery is provided with a wound electrode assembly (), a battery case () housing the wound electrode assembly (), and a nonaqueous electrolyte solution () contained in the battery case (). The nonaqueous electrolyte solution () includes an internal electrolyte solution and an external electrolyte solution. The internal electrolyte solution is contained in the interior of the wound electrode assembly (). The external electrolyte solution () is collected at the bottom of the battery case (). The viscosity of the internal electrolyte solution is greater than the viscosity of the external electrolyte solution ().
