Provided is a projection type image display device including an antivibration devicesuppressing a vibration of a projection lensThe antivibration deviceincludes an antivibration base fixed to a display device bodyand a friction sliding mechanismprovided on the antivibration base. The friction sliding mechanismattenuates a vibration of the projection lensby causing a lens-side sliding membermoving in synchronization with the projection lensand a base-side sliding membercorresponding to a part of the antivibration base to contact each other in a pressed state so that both sliding membersandfrictionally slide on each other.
