Abstract
A rotatably mounted suction drum () of a device (VM) for compacting a fiber material (V) on a spinning machine having an annular drive element () which, in the operating position, rests via a portion of its inner surface (IF) on a portion of a circular peripheral surface (AU) of a projection () that extends coaxial to an axis of rotation (A) of the suction drum () and is mounted on an end face () of the suction drum (). In order to prevent fibers detached from the fiber material (V) from settling between the inner surface (IF) of the drive element () and the peripheral surface (AU) of the projection (), the suction drum (), on the end face () having the projection (), has a peripheral elevation () and the drive element () on the side () directed toward the end face () of the suction drum () has a peripheral recess (), wherein the elevation () protrudes into the recess () a labyrinth seal.
