Abstract
Method for forming an oxide dispersion strengthened alloy. An alloy material () is melted with an energy beam () to form a melt pool () in the presence of a flux material (), and particles () of a metal oxide are directed into the melt pool such that the particles are dispersed within the melt pool. Upon solidification, an oxide dispersion strengthened alloy () is formed as a layer bonded to an underlying substrate () or as an object contained on a removable support.
