Abstract
A cutting tool () is specified with a cutting region () that comprises a substrate () onto which a coating () is applied, which coating () is subsequently processed, whereby a sharp cutting edge () is formed. Furthermore, a corresponding method for the manufacture of the cutting tool () is specified. By means of the sharpening of the cutting edge () after the coating rather than before, a particularly sharp cutting edge () is formed, whereby the precision of the cutting tool () as well as its service life is improved.
