Abstract

A fluorine-containing alkylsilane compound represented by the general formula:CF(CF)(CHCF)(CFCF)(CH)SiRX  [I]wherein n is an integer of 0 to 5; a is 1 or 2; b is an integer of 0 to 3; R is a C-Calkoxy group, a fluorine-containing alkoxy group, or an alkenyl group; X is halogen; and d is an integer of 0 to 3. The fluorine-containing alkylsilane compound is produced by reacting, in the presence of a transition metal catalyst, a polyfluoroalkyl allyl compound represented by the general formula:CF(CF)(CHCF)(CFCF)CHCH═CH  [II]wherein n, a, and b are as defined above, with:
