Abstract
Described is a method for operating a steering system () in a motor vehicle, said steering system () comprising an electric drive unit () for boosting the steering force. The electric drive unit () is operated using software. When the software is restarted, the drive unit () is operated in such a way that a torque introduced into the drive unit () is damped.
