Abstract
The present invention relates to the field of double-stranded RNA (dsRNA)-mediated gene silencing in insect species. More particularly, the present invention relates to genetic constructs designed for the expression of dsRNA corresponding to novel target genes in the insect pest, commonly known as the gypsy moth. The present invention also provides methodologies for introducing dsRNA into target insects to induce RNA interference. These constructs are particularly useful in RNAi-mediated control of the gypsy moth.
