In one embodiment, a telemetry system may track a cloud synchronization system to improve performance. A service proxymay receive a matching file metadata setfor a matching filestored in a cloud user accountof a cloud synchronization system. The service proxymay execute a synchronization verification of the matching file metadata setto a local filestored in a client device. The service proxymay create a telemetry reportdescribing a synchronization erroras determined by the synchronization verification.
