Abstract

The present invention lies in the fields of chemistry and nanotechnology and describes a nanocomposite to be used in the recovery of several compounds from inorganic or organic medium. Specifically, the invention presents a nanocomposite consisting of magnetic nanoparticles composed of FeOassociated to an activated charcoal adsorbent substrate, a process to obtain and methods of use of the nanocomposite. The present invention enables the processing, concentration and recovery of large volumes of contaminated water, regenerating magnetic adsorbent material for reuse, in a cyclic and sustainable manner, transforming dispersed/diluted pollutants in pre-concentrates that can be easily processed, helping to conserve natural resources.
