Abstract
An electric cartridge type heater () has at least one the tubular metallic jacket (), at least one electric resistance wire () arranged in the interior space of the tubular metallic jacket with two ends for electrically contacting the electric resistance wire, wherein the at least one electric resistance wire is electrically isolated from the tubular metallic jacket by an electrically insulating material () arranged in the interior space of the tubular metallic jacket (). The electric resistance wire is self-supporting. A method is also provided for manufacturing such an electric cartridge type heater.
