Abstract

Disclosed is an improved bulk metallic glass alloy and methods of making the alloy in which the alloy has the structure ZrNbCuNiAl, wherein a-e represent the atomic percentage of each respective element, and wherein b/a is less than about 0.040, and c/d is less than 1.15. The bulk metallic glass alloy has improved thermal stability and an increased super cooled liquid region rendering it capable of being thermoplastically formed into a variety of shapes and sizes.
