Abstract
Provided are a backlight device and a liquid-crystal display device whereby, while carrying out a radiation countermeasure of a light source, uniformity of temperature of a back face chassis is effected. The backlight device comprises: a light-guide plate () which emits toward the front face side light which enters from an end face; a light source () which projects light toward the end face; a back face chassis () which is disposed on the back face side of the light-guide plate; and a heat radiation member () which is disposed on the back face side of the back face chassis, and which dissipates heat from the light source. The heat radiation member further comprises chassis contact portions (-) which make partial contact with the back face of the back face chassis at multiple sites.
