Abstract
The invention relates to a scanning opto-electronic detection device and a method for sensing the surroundings of a motor vehicleby scanning by means of an opto-electronic detection device. The detection devicecomprises a transmission and reception optical systemthat outputs electromagnetic rays and maps reflected rays on a detector, wherein the detector is of multiline design and comprises a plurality of detector cells for providing electrical received signals on the basis of received reflected rays, which detector cells are lined up in a detector cell stack and are evaluable in parallel measurement planes. The detection device furthermore comprises a mirror carrierhaving mirror facesthat are averted from one another and that are arranged in a manner tilted at a tilt angle with respect to an axis of rotationof the mirror carrierand map different vertical sensing regions for reflected rays onto the detector. In order to allow the surroundings of a motor vehicle to be sensed with little physical outlay by means of an opto-electronic detection device having as large a sensing region as possible, the invention provides for determined tilt angles α of the mirror facesthat are such that the sensing regionsintersect in a central section of a total sensing region
