Abstract

An apparatus () for cutting a pipe () made of thermoplastic material including: a cutting unit (T) which includes a tool equipped with a disk () rotatable about an axis (XI) and which are used to allow a rotary motion of the axis (XI) of the disk () about an axis (X) of the pipe () and disk () sinking into the pipe () in a radial direction; a lubricant dispensing unit (L) for the disk (), used to operate on at least one portion (P,P) of a face (F,F) of the disk (), for releasing a predetermined quantity of lubricant on it so as to reduce the friction between the disk () and the pipe () during cutting.
